{"id":289,"date":"2016-07-08T14:10:55","date_gmt":"2016-07-08T04:10:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paulyeatman.net.au\/?p=289"},"modified":"2020-07-29T14:41:17","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T03:41:17","slug":"technical-illustration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulyeatman.net.au\/index.php\/2016\/07\/08\/technical-illustration\/","title":{"rendered":"Technical Illustration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shortly after beginning my very first microbiology role, I discovered a program called Microsoft Visio was installed on the work computers and it could be used to create diagrams.\u00a0 I was performing\u00a0 a lot of viable environmental monitoring duties at this time and the room maps were in need of improvement.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This was the perfect opportunity to improve some documentation.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Armed with a texta and lots of plastic overhead sheets (great for sanitizing before taking them into the classified areas), I set about redrawing the room maps.\u00a0 There were fourteen filling rooms, about eight support rooms and three\u00a0 sterile stores or corridors.\u00a0 Once I&#8217;d made my notes, I set about redrawing them in Visio.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I recreated two of these diagrams from memory using Adobe Illustrator, which was far easier to use than Visio for this task.\u00a0 This demonstrates my strong memory and current technical drawing skills.
